CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBLE (CSR) PROGRAMME – SABAH, WE CARE TO SUPPORT STUDENTS IN SABAH FOLLOWING 3rd WAVE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Bandar Baru Bangi- Pelangi Publishing Group has initiate a Corporate Social Responsible (CSR) Programme – Sabah, We Care to support students in Sabah who are affected in terms of education due to the increasing of Covid-19 cases in Sabah. This initiative is implemented in 3 phases, namely eBooks Donation, Physical Books Donation and Fund Donation from Sales Proceeds. 

In collaboration with Sabah State Library and Xentral Methods Sdn Bhd, Pelangi sponsored 150 free eBook worth RM100K through the platform Sabah.elib.com.my until 31 December 2020. This initiative could contribute up to RM900k if the eBooks are being used to its maximum capacity. Through this activity, we hope to help the students continue their studies from home during the closure of education institutions.  

Secondly, Pelangi donated 2419 copies of academic books worth approximately RM10,000 to Sabah students. These books will be distributed to the students via Royal Ranger Regiment and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Impian Malaysia (KAMI) to the students in Sri Kinabatangan Camp and 3 Alternative Schools respectively. This initiative is expected to help and assist more than 450 students in their education journey. 

Thirdly, Sabah, We Care CSR Program also encourage public involvement to support students in Sabah and front liners of which 10% of Pelangi online sales revenue from 01 to 30 November will be donated to the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and the Malaysian Medical Association, Sabah branch. Apart from that, Pelangi eBookstore is open to those who are interested to donate physical books to the Sabah children. These book packages consist of preschool, primary school and secondary school publications with the prices from RM100 to RM300, and the books will be donated to the children houses in needs via Sabah Child Welfare Association (SCWA) and Caring for the Future Malaysia (CFM).
